The Kurunegala, Puttalam and Gampaha districts of Sri Lanka's coconut triangle are where CBL's farming network has been embedded for 35 years — biodynamic plots, Fairtrade cooperatives and organic plots that are annually audited, GPS-mapped and fully traceable to farm block level.

We don't apply certifications on top of standard farming. We build the farm around the practice — biodynamic principles, organic inputs, Fairtrade community structures — from the ground up.

Biodynamic Practice — Demeter Framework
Biodynamic farming isn't a certification we add — it's the philosophy our Sri Lanka growers operate under. Soil biology, crop diversity, and closed-loop nutrients replace what industrial agriculture achieves with chemicals. Zero synthetic inputs, ever.
What this means in practice
Biodynamic preparations build soil microbiology season by season. No synthetic fertilisers, herbicides, or pesticides are permitted. Annual on-farm verification aligned with Demeter International standards. The farm is the certification.

Holistic Organic — Naturland Framework
Our organic sourcing is structured around Naturland's holistic framework — covering not just how crops are grown, but how workers are treated and how processing facilities operate. Requirements exceed standard EU organic regulation at every stage.
What this means in practice
Organic from seed through processing — no gaps in the chain. Social standards are embedded in farmer contracts, not bolted on. Processing and packaging facilities are independently audited as part of the same framework as the farm.

Fair Sourcing — Fairtrade Framework
Fairtrade is a structural pricing commitment built into every farmer contract. A guaranteed minimum floor price protects against commodity collapse. A documented Fairtrade Premium goes directly into farmer group accounts — spent on what communities choose.
What this means in practice
Floor price is guaranteed regardless of market fluctuation. Premium funds go into farmer group bank accounts — spent on community infrastructure, equipment, and education. Annual FLOCERT audit verifies every payment. Full ESG documentation available per shipment.
